Botox is an injectable drug made from botulinum toxin type A. This toxin is produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Botox is used for three main purposes: muscle spasm control, severe underarm sweating and cosmetic improvement for wrinkles etc. The human lethal dose of botulinum toxin is 2000~3000 units/time. General cosmetic injection should be controlled within 200 units/time. Generally, wrinkle removal for 1 part require 10-20 units, and the full-face wrinkle removal is within 100 units. For leg slimming will require a larger amount, it is recommended to do it in stages and not more than 200 units each time, the interval should be more than 3 months. As long as the dosage is strictly adhered to the regulation and the treatments are done is proper practice or hospital, botulinum toxin injection is safe.                        肉毒素全称肉毒杆菌素，是肉毒杆菌在繁殖过程中分泌的一种A型毒素。由于它对兴奋型神经介质有干扰作用，临床上主要用于治疗肌肉痉挛、斜视等。后肉毒素被引入医疗美容领域，广泛应用于皮肤除皱、瘦肌肉等方面。肉毒素的人体致死量为2000~3000单位/次，一般美容注射的安全用量应控制在200单位/次以内。衡力和保妥适每支50-100单位，一般单部位除皱在10-20单位，全脸除皱100单位以内，如果瘦小腿需要比较大的量，也建议分次进行，每次不超过200单位，间隔大于3个月。只要严格遵守剂量使用规则，在正规医疗机构接受肉毒素治疗，肉毒素注射就是安全的

The initial effects become visible within 48 to 72 hours. Wrinkle will seem lighter, skin will be smoother, obvious result will be shown after 3-7 days.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                疗效一般在注射后，48-72小时开始显现，表现为面部皱纹变浅、变平，皮肤变光滑，明显效果约在3-7天左右。 

If you receive injections in the eye area, 1%-5% of patients may experience drooping eyelids or uneven eyebrows. Luckily side effects are not permanent, it will disappear within 2 weeks, some may experience bruising.                                                                                                             是药三分毒，肉毒素也不例外。幸运的是，根据研究，它的副作用非常小也是短时间的。有1%-5%的病例，出现轻微的眼角下垂或眉毛下垂，通常于2周内消失。而少数患者会出现轻微的淤青。

The effects of Botox are temporary. In general, Botox lasts 3-4 months. There will certainly be patients that could last longer, in that 4-6month range, rarely 10months to a year.
Is the result permanent after 3 Botulinum toxin injections?
It is not possible to be permanent, but it would be better than single shot, the result will last much longer. Generally, to keep the result longer lasting, repeat injection every 6 months for the first 3 treatments and follow up with 9months to a year maintenance.

As long as not too frequent and not overdose, there is no defined limit to the number of injections one site can have. However, rare cases of body’s immune system are capable of developing antibodies to the Botox molecule which can render it ineffective at some point in the future.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    只要不过勤、过量注射，定期适量注射，遵从肉毒素注射的标准，就不会有不良后果。极少案例，可能会对肉毒素产生抗体，从而减少疗效，或注射部位肌肉萎缩，出现轻微凹陷等现象，但相比自然的衰老，还是比没做时更显年轻状态。

Botox vials come in two different sizes: 50-unit vials and 100-unit vials. The number of units injected depends on the number of wrinkles that want to be alleviated. Crow feet would be around 10 unit each side.
