 There is no procedure yet that will make a scar disappear completely. However, there are treatments to make a scar less noticeable. These include: Surgical Scar Revision: This is a method of removing a scar and rejoining the normal skin.

 You may have swelling, bruising, skin color changes, pain, or discomfort in the surgery area. These may last for 1 to 2 weeks after your surgery. You may not see improvement in the look of your scar for some time.

 Scar revisions surgery is typically safe, but as with any surgery, risks include infection, bleeding, or the recurrence of the scar. To avoid these, follow your care team’s pre- and post-operative instructions, and keep an open dialogue about any concerns you have throughout the recovery process.
